HISTORY
Established in 2000 by owner and founder Ronald Perks, Cairns Bus Charters (CBC) is a leader in the provision of passenger transport, specialising in Self-Drive Rental and Chauffeured Charter transport services for both organisations and the general public. 2005 brought the development of professional customised tours and in 2011 the inception of an integrated mechanical workshop. Focused on delivering quality and unrivaled expertise, CBC has advanced to the industry front runner.
ACCREDITATION
Cairns Bus Charters Pty Ltd holds Operator Accreditation (licence no. Q900399934) as issued by the Director-General of Department of Transport and Main Roads. Cairns Bus Charters complies with all subsequent requirements including vehicle registration requirements, compulsory third party insurance requirements in addition to holding extensive Business Insurance policies including a $20million Public Liability insurance policy.

Cairns Bus Charters has earned a reputation as one of the fastest growing bus transport companies in Far North Queensland and boasts a huge fleet of over 25 buses/coaches with a combined carrying capacity of over 650 passengers with the ability to transport to any location Australia wide.
CBC can offer our clients a designated Transport Coordinator to deliver premium customer service levels and ensure that even the most complex travel requirements are met with the most efficient and the highest value solutions available.
We utilise the latest in transport management software, from internationally renowned programs such as Coach Manager (DS) and Fleetmatics GPS tracking to our own custom-built Fleet Management and Quality Control software systems. To maximise our operational efficiency our IT Manager has developed several programs to deliver fast accurate quotes, monitor fleet maintenance and numerous other systems to assist in servicing our customers.OUR PEOPLE
Our team is led by Founder and Managing Director, Ronald Perks, in conjunction with his sons Darrell Perks as the Operations Manager and Russell Perks as the IT Manager. Our broader organisation structure includes specialty departmental Managers in the areas of Operations, Administration, Business Development and Finance, each responsible for their own respective staff and/or consultants. Our highly trained staff can deliver your every transport requirement and ensure the success of your plans and the satisfaction of your people.
All drivers at Cairns Bus Charters must hold current and valid Heavy-Vehicle licences in addition to State Government mandated ‘Drivers Authorisation’. To ensure industry best practice in driver training, our drivers or ‘Coach Captains’ are subjected to a rigorous and ongoing professional development program above their statutory and regulatory requirements as professional drivers. Coach Captains are required to review and report on their vehicles prior to every vehicle dispatch with every report being subject to scrutiny from our Operations Manager on a daily basis to ensure best practice in vehicle maintenance. Driver training is a pillar of our organisation with our firm focus on exceptional performance being the key to our flawless record in the safe transport of our valued customers.

CHAUFFEUR CHARTER
Whatever your needs are, our friendly reservations team can coordinate professional and reliable, chauffeur driven transportation services by our experienced coach captains to and from any destination. Catering to group numbers of just a few up to a thousand and servicing basic itineraries to complex movements with numerous destinations and specific travel requirements. Local or long distance services conducted with either budget minded or luxurious vehicles, we have the capacity and the ability to provide clients with exactly what they require.
SELF-DRIVE RENTAL
Cairns Bus Charters offer a hassle-free, Self-Drive Rental Agreement on our modern range of buses from 12 seat mini-buses up to our 59-seat luxury coaches. Whether you are looking to provide an impressive transport solution for your next family adventure or source a professional, high-capacity vehicle for your tour business or corporate event, we can assist. Providing additional services like dropping off and picking up the vehicle to any location. Also offering luggage trailers and baby/booster seats.
COOKTOWN EXPRESS - PASSENGERS & LIGHT FREIGHT
We are the Cooktown bus service, connecting the north together every day. Cairns Cooktown Express allows customers to travel in comfort and safety with the convenience of an extensive travel schedule. Providing flexibility and consistency for customers, we offer unparalleled bus transport on our Cairns to Cooktown bus service, stopping at all major locations in between. Cooktown transportation has never been easier - departing Cairns every morning at 7:00am and Cooktown each afternoon at 1:30pm, let us take you there!
TOURS
Cairns Bus Charters offer tour booking services for a range of attractions in the Greater Cairns Region. This facility is powered by “Tours to Go” and are operated by specific tour operators if their respective specials fields. We also offer Custom Tour tailoring services where one of our helpful and friendly tour package specialists can coordinate a custom tour package specifically to your group's needs.
MAINTENANCE
Our fully equipped and conveniently located workshop facility provides a comprehensive range of vehicle repairs and maintenance services, supervised and managed by a qualified mechanic with a shared commitment to safety and value. Certified diesel fitters and mechanics maintain our fleet to the highest standards using the most current
technology and processes. Being a certified-approved inspection station, we are authorised to issue Roadworthy Certificates and rectify faults issued by DOT inspectors. Utilising both preventative and scheduled maintenance into our own fleet.BUS AND COACH DEPOT
Cairns bus charters operates out of the largest and most modern depot in the region, with the closest proximity to the CBD. The facility is completely security fenced with double gate entry, double undercover bus wash bays, large easy access parking stalls and onsite mechanical service. It’s no surprise that many companies have already made the logical move to store and service their bus with the best.

The cleaning staff are experts in detailing, including rubbish removal, window smears, mopping, and seat belt realignment. Zero down Time: With a large and varied fleet we can provide a vehicle for you to continue your operations while yours is in the workshop. We offer a seamless vehicle exchange system for either the entire period or just a portion of the servicing time.
